Building a Legacy: First Look in the Books

A week ago, we kicked off our very first Legacy Lacrosse “First Look” experience—and what an incredible start it was. Between our middle school and high school age groups, we had 55+ players sign up to step on the field, put in the work, and get a glimpse of what Legacy is all about.

The day wasn’t without a curveball. A rain delay rolled in during the high school session, cutting into valuable on-field time. Some families had to head out, which we completely understand—weather doesn’t always play fair with schedules. For those who stayed through the delay, we finished strong with a fast-paced second half that delivered great reps and set the tone for what’s ahead. Regardless, every player who showed up was part of Legacy’s very first step, and that matters.

But the work doesn’t stop here. Next up, we’re excited to announce Legacy Labs, a 4-week clinic series hosted at Metro Indoor Sports Complex. This program is designed to push players to refine their fundamentals, build lacrosse IQ, and sharpen the edge that separates the good from the great. It’s where development meets dedication.

We’re also thrilled to roll out our Summer House-League—a 6-week long competitive league designed to give players consistent reps, game-speed experience, and a fun, team-centered environment right here at home. For those who want to keep improving and competing over the summer without the full travel commitment, this is the perfect fit.

And for athletes hungry to take it even further, Legacy Lacrosse is gearing up for the launch of our River Monsters travel teams. These teams will be built for players who want to test themselves at the next level, compete against top talent, and represent what it means to play with pride for Southern Indiana.

As one of the greats once said, “Don’t count the reps—make the reps count.” That’s the mentality we’re carrying forward. To everyone who came out for Legacy’s First Look: thank you. You’ve helped us set the tone. The next chapter is already being written—and we’re just getting started.

A huge thank you goes out to our sponsorship partners at C & T Design for their support, and to those who’ve made our new Legacy Scholarship in memory of Kress Goldstein possible. This scholarship stands as a reminder that lacrosse is bigger than the game—it’s about people, families, and a community that keeps moving forward together.

Kress Goldstein is a name that stands the test of time in Evansville Lacrosse as he participated in lacrosse in the area since its existence. Kress grew up playing hockey and then lacrosse when his father, Lawrence Goldstein, funded and built the foundations of Evansville Lacrosse. Kress attended Castle High School and then later went on to graduate at Pomfret School and Southern Methodist University. Kress enjoyed coaching and mentoring children. He coached third to eighth graders in the Greater Evansville Youth Lacrosse Association in Evansville, IN. His players called him Coach Candy. Kress passed away in 2015 but his loving and generous heart is still felt through the lacrosse community today.

One Legacy. Many Paths.

 Leave your legacy.
